Hammarby IF is in crisis after three consecutive losses. Coach Kalle Karlsson is under threat of being sacked and reports that he has lost the dressing room have spread. But the club's sports director Mikael Hjelmberg denies the reports.

– The statement can be denied directly, he writes in a text message to FotbollDirekt.

Karlsson has been coach of Hammarby IF since 2022 and has had a weak start to the season. The team is fourth in the table with 17 points on 11 matches.

– We are in an evaluation process, Hjelmberg says.

If Karlsson leaves Hammarby IF, the former MFF coach Henrik Rydström has been made available as a replacement.

Karlsson has previously been coach of VSK and has a long experience of allsvensk football.

– I have heard from very credible sources that Kalle Karlsson has almost lost the entire dressing room, says FotbollDirekt's Mattias Eckerman.

Assistant Fredrik de Ron adds: – If you have lost a dressing room, it can be very, very difficult to turn it around. Then I see no other alternative than to give him the boot.
